Program Overview

Who Should Apply?
We’re seeking young Muslim professionals (ages 25-40 by 1st February 2026) who are either:
Finance Professionals with:
- Experience in Islamic finance, banking, economics, or related fields
- Passion for integrating sustainability into financial practice
- Vision for transforming institutions from within
Islamic Scholars with:
- Specialization in Islamic jurisprudence, environmental fiqh, or Islamic ethics
- Interest in contemporary financial applications
- Commitment to bridging scholarship and practice
Within specialized Disciplines, including
- Journalists and media professionals covering environmental or climate finance topics
- Professionals involved in managing Waqfs or Trusts
- Philanthropic organizations, networks, or foundations funding muslim climate action
- Lawyers, academia, and relevant research areas
All Candidates must demonstrate:
- Leadership potential within their communities or institutions
- Commitment to driving climate and nature action through Islamic finance
- Ability to participate in English preferred

About the Islamic Sustainable Finance Initiative (ISFI):
ISFI is a pioneering partnership between the Global Ethical Finance Initiative (GEFI), Islamic Finance Council UK (UKIFC), HSBC Middle East, and Greenpeace MENA. It is designed to empower Islamic finance to lead the transition towards a sustainable and inclusive future.
Against the backdrop of COP28 and the associated transformative regional pledges, including the UAE Banks Federation’s AED 1 trillion commitment to sustainable finance, ISFI seeks to build the ecosystem for Islamic sustainable finance through a structured, systematic programme focusing on practical market issues. The programme’s core elements include tailored capacity building, industry round tables, thought leadership papers and reports, and market landscape analysis
